7.5 Software Upgrade

Instrument operating software has been loaded into the Model 4500B at the factory. This consists

of the Windows® XP Operating System and the Boonton Electronics Model 4500B Application

Software. The Application Software will be updated from time to time to correct errors and add

new features. Users can upgrade their software by downloading a special Software Upgrade

package from the Boonton Electronics webpage, www.boonton.com. Copy the upgrade file(s) into

a USB drive, and plug the drive into one of the inst

instructions included in the Upgrade package.

After loading updated software, the instrument may or may not report an AutoCal error. To clear

the error, for each installed channel, connect a sensor to the channel and calibrator and initiate

AutoCal, as instructed in Subsection 4.1 Calibration.

If an error other than AutoCal error exists, clear it by pressing the CLR key and repeat the AutoCal

procedure.

Caution

When loading new software into the Model 4500B, some or all stored instrument configurations

and preset operating selections may be lost. Read the Upgrade Instructions carefully to determine

which files may be affected.
